FORWARD

The Philippines is now moving forward with its pursuit of decent work objectives through its 2nd Decent Work National Plan of Action aptly titled “Promoting Decent Work in the Philippines: A Common Agenda.”  Our initial experience with implementation of the Decent Work Agenda, while successful in its expected outcomes, has also been filled with challenges that taught us some valuable lessons.  Foremost of which is that a Common Agenda, pursued and implemented by government, employers, workers and other valuable social partners is the only way forward.

We believe that moving in unison can only be achieved where all the stakeholders are aware of the values of decent work both in their organizational and individual lives.

This booklet serves as an essential guide to the Philippine Labor Index (PLI), a tool that will help us monitor our progress in achieving decent work objectives. With this contribution, we hope to narrow the awareness gap on decent work not only within the country but around the world as well. [ Download the Booklet ]
