This
is a compilation of 50 bibliographic entries of books,
monographs, articles and other related literature on
girl-child labor in the country, with brief descriptions
of contents and findings. The references affirm the
existence and magnitude of some of the worst forms of
child labor in the country, specifically those involving
girls.
Vulnerable
to physical, verbal and sexual abuse, girl-child workers
were described to toil for long hours with low wages and
precarious work conditions. Further, the interplay between
and among migration, trafficking, the country’s
population program, and the role of the family in the
supply and demand of child employment is established from
the materials cited.
