Impact of Non-Wage Benefits
on Worker’s Income and Living Conditions

Year Completed: 1992

This paper provides a valuable source of information on legislations concerning workers’ non-wage benefits.  It includes all statutes enacted before 1986 and those promulgated during the Aquino administration.

The study showed that the additional benefits granted during the Aquino administration generally improved workers’ income and their standard of living, owing to the non-inflationary characteristics of these measures.  However, it cautions that the extent to which these measures will alter the workers’ standard of living is commensurate with the workers’ efforts.
