Equality of Opportunity and Treatment for Workers
with Family Responsibilities

Year Completed: 1994

The paper provides an overview of existing labor and Social Security Laws on workers with family responsibilities in the Philippines as well as situational analysis of the labor force and employment status of workers with family responsibilities.

Issues affecting the equality of opportunity for workers with family responsibilities surfaced in the Philippines with the increasing attention paid to issues affecting the status of women workers.  In recent years, however, these was an observed shift away from a traditional allocation of family roles toward greater sharing roles and responsibilities between men and women.
