A Framework on the Issue of Flexibilization
and Its Impact
on Women and Women Workers

Year Completed: 1994

The paper provides a good background material on flexibilization as it describes the nature and form of flexibilization and present the arguments in the debate on flexibilization.

It is emphasized that flexibilization tends to negatively affect more the female sector due primarily to their relative disadvantaged position in the labor market and in society as a whole.  Hence, any mitigating measure to alleviate the adverse impact of flexibilization on the labor sector should give particular emphasis to women workers.
