Economic Liberalization and Social Safety Nets

Year Completed: 1995

This paper focuses on the various aspects of economic liberalization, particularly in the areas of finance and investments, trade, telecommunications, energy, transport and privatization.  It likewise underscores the impacts on the labor sector and the need for safety nets to cushion such efforts, with emphasis on those geared to address the effects of the GATT-WTO.
