Social Protection for Workers in the Informal Sector

Year Completed: 1995

This research is centered mainly on the identification of persons comprising the informal sector, their contributions toward economic development and, most importantly, the current insufficiency of social security protection accorded to the sector.  The paper also identifies several government programs and projects designed to establish or institutionalize a social security program that shall uplift the welfare of workers belonging to this sector.
