Lacking
in literate on the subject of informal sector, especially
on its prevalence, potential contributions to the national
economy, changing faces in the light of current economic
trends, among others, makes the formulation of a holistic
intervention for workers under this sector a seemingly
impossible task.
Thus,
this paper is aimed at eliciting baseline information on
the working conditions, and occupational hazards and risks
confronting selected groups of Filipino informal sector
workers. Information
derived from this paper may aid in policy formulation and
information dissemination toward promoting improved
working conditions and occupational safety and health for
the informal sector workers.
